The Orkney Roastery

Coffee roasted in small batches with love and care, giving every bean its chance to shine. At The Orkney Roastery our aim is a continuous quest to release the natural excellence of flavour in every coffee bean we roast.

The roastery was founded in Kirkwall in 2016 by Euan and Sara, after seven years spent developing their plans together — cupping and tasting hundreds of sample coffees and blends, with an exciting espresso range as a key objective. Euan brought extensive roastery experience from mainland Scotland and twelve years running a catering supply business in Orkney.

Today the roastery is led by Roger, who worked closely with Euan learning specialty roasting, and who continues the high standards of craftsmanship Euan established. Every coffee is hand-roasted in small batches of no more than 10kg at our roastery at Hatston, Kirkwall, to give an unbeatable fresh coffee experience — roasted to order and dispatched on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
